Before publishing a post, we make various changes, sometimes we need to update the published post, or sometimes we encounter an issue in the post. Whatever could be the reason, there are possibilities that you want to revert your post or sometimes sentences.
In this article today, you will learn how to undo changes in WordPress by In-Post undo method or by Revision method. An in-post method is useful when you are writing your article, and Revisions are useful when you are looking to undo a paragraph or a whole article.
Undo is an essential requirement of any writer, whether novice or expert. Typically, the following are the reasons to use the undo option:
In-post undo means undo while you are writing the post.
So, this is about how to undo changes in WordPress using in-post undo buttons. Now you will learn to undo changes in WordPress by revisions method.
As I discussed earlier, the revisions method is mainly used to conveniently undo a complete paragraph or post. For this method also, you need to open the post or page on which you want to perform the revision undo feature.
At the top-right side of the editor, you can see Publish section that includes the save draft, preview, status, revisions, and SEO score (if you activated one).
In front of revisions, there is the number of revisions which is 4 in this case. It means I save this document/article at four different periods, and I can get it back what I was saved by clicking on the Browse link.
When you click on the Browse link, it will open a new page that displays all the revisions made by you along with time & date. It doesn’t matter; when you save the article or page, whether it was just a second or a month ago, it will result in all the revisions.
Now, at the top left corner, you can see the author’s name, date, and revised/saved time (seconds, minutes, days, etc.). At the top center, there are 4 straight blocks as I made 4 revisions.
These number of blocks depends on your number of revisions. You can select any revision that you want to restore of a particular article. Tap on the straight blocks to access various revisions.
On the basis of your requirement (that we discussed above), you can use these revisions and restore older versions. To restore any revision, tap on the Restore this revision at the right top corner. As soon as you click on that, you will get your old version back as requested.
This is all about how to undo changes in WordPress without much effort. We discussed here two basic methods to undo changes in WordPress that are the in-post method and the revisions method.
For words or sentences undo, the in-post method is preferable, while for complete restoration of the post or paragraph, the revisions method is most suitable. I hope, you get the idea of how to undo changes in WordPress. Any suggestions and queries are most welcome in the comments.
